This Stipula Adagio fountain pen has a unique semi-translucent faceted resin body. It has a metal grip, a threaded cap that pushes to post, and silver trim. It fills via built-in piston mechanism, and utilizes a #6 steel nib. All Stipula fountain pens are handmade in Italy.

The new Stipula collection comes from the praise of the slowness that in great music takes its name "Adagio". A slow and relaxed time that reconciles with reflection and calmness.

This fountain pen has a fixed piston operated by the rotating knob, firm and solid in the hands of its user. The pen body and cap have eight facets, with resin materials rich in unexpected opalescence and nuances with translucent and discreetly luminescent features in the dark. The high performance and reliable nib is available in steel with a fine, medium and calligraphic 1.1mm iridium tip. The Stipula Adagio is currently available in three colors: Pisan Sunset (amber); Fountains of Poggi (seagreen); Dawn in Fiesole (light blue).

STIPULA ADAGIO MOST BEAUTIFUL PENS BUT ALL ARE DEFECTIVE WITH ONLY ONE USEFUL NIB.

PROS: Most beautiful pens in design, high quality materials, comfortable in hand.
CONS: Nibs doesn’t write as expected (poor ink flow and quite dry), the piston filler was broken in one of them, the ink drains through the cap, Nibs are very difficult to replace because housing is made by Stipula. I do not recommend these pens

Easy to love, hard to like

The pen is enchanting: beautiful swirls of caramel, silver and brown. Sadly it does not hold a much ink. For a piston fill, very disappointing. The nib is a tad scratchy and always seems starved for ink regardless of the brand I use. It hard-starts with everything from Monteblanc to Monteverde. Frustrating when the pen's appearance makes me want to use it often.

Beautiful pen, but writing & quality control let it down

Received this, with a fine nib, in seagreen, in my first (discounted) Inktastic box.
Unfortunately, the nib wasn't fixed straight relative to the feed on arrival & hardly wrote at all. I expect better quality control from a $100+ pen. I did fix that issue with some DIY email assistance from the (very helpful) Chris; use your thumbnail to push the nib around. However, even straight it still has a very low ink flow, which I don't like. Also, the nib has discoloured slightly along the slit and breather hole (I used Organics Studio and Monteverde inks & I've not seen that on any of my other pens). I've not given up yet & will likely work on the nib, or send it to a nibmeister, to get it where I want it to be.
To be honest, the above is a real shame, because visually it's one of the more beautiful pens I have, & has a very nice weight to it. The metal trim looks really nice, and the metallic shiny resin is gorgeous. I like a nice long nib, which it has, and the nib engravings compliment it nicely.

A fascinating addition to my collection

When looking at images on the web I had not realised that it was a multifaceted shape and that the colours of the Amber version were so nice. The stub nib is nice to write with. A very nice and fascinating pen.

Lovely Pen

I had my eye on this pen as I kept seeing it around. I received it in my Inkredible monthly box this month. That was a happy surprise to see it in my box. I received Seagreen (Fountains of Poggi) which was the exact pen I had my eye on. It is a lovely pen. It writes beautifully without any scratchiness. It doesn't really have any feedback but I can feel it on the paper which is actually a good thing. I don't like feedback in my pens but I like the way this pen performs. It can be posted to write with, but the pen has a little bit of weight to it and I preferred it unposted. It has enough length that you can write with it very comfortably without posting. I love this pen. It writes well, it looks beautiful, and I am very happy with it.
