Partenope, a clear reference to the Neapolitan genius in combining fountain pen and roller in a single solution with a new cartridge refill and converter system. The clip obtained from an ancient goldsmith process called "lost wax". The real placed on the hood depicts the great beauty of the Gulf of Naples. Finally, the head obtained with the 3D technique is enamelling! The result? A classic-modern silhouette without forgetting the Made in Italy.

Both pens are great - the EF fountain and the rollerball insert. Writes beautifully unposted and that is how I prefer. Looks so beautiful in person too - a truly impressive pen for a great price. The team at Truphae is also wonderful to work with
It feels just a bit awkward to submit a review here for the Partenope Alba, a model that is sold out at Truphae, but well....
I'm always on the lookout for FPs that combine interesting materials without neglecting originality of form. That's the reason why, however often I have been wowed by some of the diamond dust resins used for the Esterbrook Estie, I have never/not yet been moved to commit. I mean, come on, a straight forward cigar shape, not too mention a near exact copy of the Montegrappa Elmo 01 which I already own, does not quite a revolution make. The Partenope, on the other hand, does just that IMO. Not only is the resin of the Alba spectacular, an astounding shimmer packed array of blues that run from turquoise to Sapphire swirled with oranges that spin from bright to burnt, and as such very convincingly conjures the skies over the bay of Naples at dawn (hence Alba), the whole thing comes in a unique form that is capped by a massive, mind-bogglingly beautiful silver plated finial engraved with a view of the bay itself. Now that's a definite wow in my book.
That the Partenope is also a deftly balanced (unposted) and smooth writer is the proverbial cherry on top. That you can if so desired turn it into a rollerball is an embarrassment of riches.
This is such a beautiful pen, and it feels terrific in hand. And I love the Italian flag, and colors, and niftiness of the product! The fine nib writes fine! It was initially a bit scratchy, but that has turned into a smooth writer in 3 days. It's so beautiful, if you're on the fence, get it. Thank you!
This is such a beautiful pen, and it feels terrific in hand. And I love the Italian flag, and colors, and niftiness of the product! I had to take one star off for the nib, unfortunately. It writes every time, but it's scratchy for my taste, depending how you hold it. JoWo nibs can be terrific from some pen companies, most notably Opus 88. I Love the write with both of my Opi. My Conklin Duragraph JoWo nibs are not as good. This Gioia nib is okay, and perhaps I'm a bit persnickety, but in the end, the scratchiness bugs me. It's so beautiful, if you're on the fence, get it. Thank you!
This pen was a gift for my wife and her first ever fountain pen (post school days). She absolutely loves its looks and the smooth writing. A perfectly balanced Italian 👌
I love it's ivory feel.
