The Pen of the Year 2024 draws inspiration from the rich "Turquerie" era, spanning the 16th to 18th centuries, when the opulence, aesthetics, and exotic allure of the Ottoman Empire captivated Europe. This exclusive edition, designed by renowned Ottoman art expert Serdar Gülgün, is limited to just 315 fountain pens and 85 rollerball pens.
Platinum-plated metal accents feature 18 radiant rubies, complemented by tassels and crescent moons on the cap that echo symbols of power. The cap’s end piece showcases a stylized Ottoman tent dome, while the barrel, cap, and grip are embellished with an elegant chevron pattern, accented by decorative lacquer inlays. An 18-karat magnum bicolor gold nib offers a luxurious writing experience, and the domed cap end is engraved with a tortoise, a cherished Ottoman symbol of luck. Inside, the pen reveals an intricately designed inner sleeve, showcasing the artistry within.
