The Harlequin Collection: A Masterpiece of Craftsmanship

The Harlequin Collection, the sixteenth in the David Oscarson™ series of Limited Edition writing instruments, is a true celebration of Old World craftsmanship and artistic mastery. Available in five stunning color variations, each limited to just 88 pieces, these pens are more than mere writing instruments—they are works of art.

Inspired by the iconic character from the Italian Commedia dell’arte, Harlequin, this collection follows the success of the 2005 Pierrot and Pierrette edition. Harlequin, with his daring personality and patchwork costume, represents creativity and resilience, traits that are beautifully reflected in the design and craftsmanship of these pens.

Exquisite Craftsmanship

Each pen in the Harlequin Collection is meticulously hand-crafted from 18-karat gold and .925 Sterling Silver, featuring intricate Guilloché engraving, a centuries-old technique that brings life and light to precious metals. The Art Deco design requires multiple stages of engraving, where the entire body of the pen is precisely cut and detailed, leaving intricate patterns in high relief.

The Art of Hard Enamel

The craftsmanship doesn’t stop there. The pens also incorporate the ancient art of Hard Enamel, where glass, water, and metal oxides are ground by hand, applied meticulously to the engraved surface, and fired at over 1,000°F. This process, repeated multiple times, ensures that the enamel reaches the perfect depth, covering each guilloché pattern with a rich, velvet finish. This demanding process requires years of experience and a five-year apprenticeship to master.

Elegant Details

Each pen is set with three VVS-1 diamonds, adding a touch of luxury to its already exquisite design. The filling system is engineered to perfection, accommodating various filling methods and ensuring that the ink remains secure. The 18-karat gold nib, engineered in Heidelberg, Germany, is unparalleled in quality, promising a smooth and durable writing experience.

The Harlequin Collection is a testament to the dedication, skill, and artistry required to produce something truly exceptional. These pens are not just tools for writing—they are treasures to be cherished for generations.
