"Les Quatre Couleurs" translates to "The Four Colors" or "The Four Suits," referencing the evolution of playing card suits, which began as early as the 7th century across regions like China, India, and Persia. By the fourteenth century, playing cards had reached Europe, where they evolved into more familiar symbols. Italian cards inspired the French suits, and the four-suit system – Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs – solidified in France around 1480. Each suit symbolized a different social class: Nobility for Spades, Clergy for Hearts, Wealth for Diamonds, and Peasantry for Clubs.
The Les Quatre Couleurs Collection showcases intricate levels of Guilloché engraving with both translucent and opaque Hard Enamel finishes. Each pen body is meticulously engraved to create a relief effect, elevating the motifs of the four suits and intricate filigree. Free Shipping: We offer free shipping for all U.S. orders over $20, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Standard Shipping Fee: For U.S. orders below $20, a flat shipping fee of $5.99 will be applied.
International Orders:
Shipping Rates: International shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of the package and the destination country.
Exclusions: Currently, we do not offer shipping to Russia and South Africa.
