Lewis and Clark Limited Edition Collection

The Lewis and Clark Collection celebrates the epic journey of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, who set out on the legendary Corps of Discovery Expedition in May 1804. Commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson, this expedition aimed to map and document the vast lands acquired through the Louisiana Purchase, explore trade opportunities, and establish relationships with Native American tribes. Alongside them were Sacagawea, her son “Pompey,” 45 frontiersmen, and Seaman, Lewis's loyal Newfoundland dog. After an 8,000-mile trek across North America, they reached the Pacific Ocean, solidifying their legacy as pioneers of American exploration.

Equipped with an array of provisions, technical instruments, and arms, the Corps departed from St. Louis and documented every detail of their journey, including new landscapes, animals, and encounters with Indigenous peoples. Despite harsh conditions, the Corps reached the Columbia River in November 1805 and spent winter at Fort Clatsop. The return trip took them back to St. Louis by September 1806, where they were met with national acclaim.

The Lewis and Clark Limited Edition Collection honors this historic expedition and the bravery of these two explorers. Their signatures appear in high relief, set against a backdrop of flowing river currents, and each pen features a map of the Louisiana Purchase with the marked trail from St. Louis to Fort Clatsop. The Meriwether Lewis cap includes a telescope-inspired clip with a compass rose engraved on the barrel, symbolizing discovery and navigation. The William Clark cap features a feathered clip and an engraving of a Peace Medal, similar to those gifted to Native Chiefs along the trail. The Lewis and Clark Collection stands as the fifteenth series in the David Oscarson™ lineup and is produced in two design variations, each limited to 100 pieces.
