Trellis Limited Edition Collection
The Trellis Collection is the 7th release in the David Oscarson™ series of Limited Edition writing instruments. Produced in five color variations, each piece is limited to only 88 units (including fountain pens and rollerballs). This particular color is limited to just 8 pieces!
Continuing in the spirit of artistic mastery, the Trellis Collection combines the centuries-old technique of Guilloché with the expertise of Hard Enamel, showcasing the best of Old World craftsmanship. This collection incorporates multiple levels of Guilloché engraving on each piece, with four colors of translucent hard enamel complemented by opalescent white hard enamel. Finished in 18-karat Yellow Gold and Rhodium Vermeil, the pen is a true work of art. The fifth Trellis piece features opalescent white hard enamel accented with translucent black, and finished with 18-kt Yellow Gold vermeil.
Guilloché
Handcrafted from 18-karat gold and .925 Sterling Silver, each precious metal component undergoes multiple stages of precision engraving to create intricate patterns, known as Guilloché, that bring life and light to the surface. The "leaf and bud" motif is painstakingly created in multiple engraving stages, first cutting the body of the pen to the base of the pattern, and then engraving the designs, leaving the leaves and buds in high relief.
Hard Enamel
The hard enamel process begins by grinding a mixture of glass, water, and metal oxides by hand for hours. Once settled, the paste is applied to the engraved surface, followed by firing at temperatures exceeding 1,000°F to fuse the enamel to the metal, forming a glass-like finish. The enameling process involves numerous firings, filing, and polishing to achieve the velvet finish that defines each piece.
Filling System
The Trellis Collection features a versatile filling system that accommodates a cartridge, converter, or eyedropper fill. Seals and "O" rings ensure the ink remains contained within the chamber. A rollerball version of the pen is also available.
Engineered in Heidelberg, Germany, the 18-karat gold nib is crafted for quality and precision. Plated with rhodium and tipped with iridium, the nib ensures durability and is available in fine, medium, and broad sizes.
